What is Happiness and Sorrow- Both Happiness and Sorrow are synonyms with each other, meaning that is only one, what is happiness is same the sorrow, just our thinking makes the difference between the two. Just like you ate mango, you felt its taste sweet, it is happiness, then you ate neem, you felt its taste bitter, in fact, the bitterness of neem is not sad, but you are looking for the taste like mango in everything. Happiness and Sadness is like a wheel, if one comes the other will go, but you have felt the pleasure, that is sadness. Think there is something that gives you pleasure, gives happiness, when that thing goes away from you, then it is sadness. Actually, reason for the sorrow is our "desire", when we want something and we don't get it, then we are sad. Sadness doesn't hurt us, our "desire" makes us sad. Otherwise there is no such thing as sorrow and happiness in the world, this is all the time, now the time is something else, after a while there will be something else. If we really come to know that everything is temporary, then we will not be sad. Neither sorrow is everlasting nor happiness, and this is the truth.
Mind is Everthing- Imagine if you are sleeping and if a lizard passes by your hand, what will happen? Nothing, you will not mind because you are in sleep and you don't know that lizard passed by on your hand. Now imagine you are awake and a lizard passes by your hand, what will be your reaction? You will immediately get upset and feel dirty but think that the lizard doesn'yt bother you, your mind has disturebed you.
I have a friend who is a pandit, was travelling ina a bus. There was a crowd in the bus, all the people were standing adjacent to each other, even till panditji was comfortable, a boy was standing next to him. Suddenly someone from behind called the boy, the boy's name felt that he was of low caste. Now immediately the religion of Pandit ji got corrupted, but since then nothing happened when he was standing with the same boy. Whatever the mind has done, otherwise the person is a human being.
Think how you will feel if you have a favorite actor or actress in front of you, you will be very excited and you will be happy at the same time. While that actor is also a human being and that man too. The only difference is the mind.
How to control your mind (Meditation) - Meditation is the process by using which you can control your mind; You can control yourself. According to Sandeep Maheshwari, Meditation does not mean that you try to close your eyes and see something. No, Meditation simply means "Meditation". Whatever work you are doing, whether eating, moving, studying, working xyz anything, Meditation is to do your work carefully. Put your mind into any one task and then keep the same attention there, this is Meditation.
